Within such framework, has been developing initiatives specifically targeting family and informal carers (discussion groups, trainings etc.). ESS has recently launched a new support programme, co-founded by the National Government, dedicated to elderly dependent people with Alzheimer disease and their family carers: the so called “Equipe Spécialisé Alzheimer à Domicile (ESAD)”, aiming to support the user and their families along a long-term process of cognitive rehabilitation. Finally, CCAS is running a programme of cultural entertainment for active senior citizens, working in strong partnership with the ESS department especially on the question of supporting family carers.
